U8 Falcons Match Report

After a long-winded issue which was eventually sorted out involving the goals for the game.The boys started strongly and defended well despite the 1 - 0 score in the first half of the first game. What was interesting for me was their desire to work together which was impressive as the intensity of the game was always fast paced.

The second half of the match was much tighter and as both teams strived to score the next crucial goal. Unfortunately, we were unable to convert some of our chances and the game ebbed away from us resulting in a 1-0 loss.

The second match started in the same vein as the previous game where our boys defended well. Both teams again, missed multiple chances as the scoreline remained 0-0. However, chances need to be taken when the team is in the ascendancy or good teams will punish us like we were done today. Overall as our second game may positives for the game and well done boys.

My highlight for improvement is that some boys took a touch or two too many but will learn. The frequent subbing of players and changes in position gave me an insight to each players ability and their temperament playing in a different role.

All in all, the team has potential which I can't wait to put ideas and stamp my (the club) ethos on the pitch.
